About Clarity:
Clarity String Quartet is an international jazz string quartet redefining the possibilities of the string tradition. Rooted in Andalusia (Ángela Varo – violin), Seoul (Soo Choi – violin), Spokane, WA (Drew Keeve – viola), and Catalonia (Queralt Giralt Soler – cello), Clarity fuses diverse musical languages including jazz, Romani music, flamenco, Americana, classical, Brazilian, and Catalonian traditions into a vibrant and original collective sound.
Through original compositions and inventive arrangements, Clarity reimagines the quartet as a jazz rhythm section, where improvisation, lyricism, and composition merge into a dynamic musical dialogue. Mentored by artists such as Eugene Friesen, Sarah Caswell, and Federico Nathan, Clarity carries forward a vision of chamber music that is adventurous, collaborative, and boundary-breaking.
Together, Clarity String Quartet creates music that transcends genre, celebrating both the individuality of its members and the power of collective improvisation. With roots around the globe and a shared vision for the future of strings in jazz, Clarity invites audiences into a sound world that is daring, lyrical, and profoundly human.
